One of my favorite things about the Silhouette Cameo is the way that it handles images for Print and Cut. I have tried using other cutting machines for print and cut and I was able to get okay results. The okay results though usually took some time to achieve depending on the machine I was using. The silhouette Machine has been a dream to work with and I get perfect print and cut images with very little effort.
The only issue that I had is when I first attempted to do the print and cut it was slightly off. The cut was slightly down cutting into the top of my image and leaving a white border towards the bottom of the image. I found the directions in the Silhouette Studio software on how to fix it by calibrating the machine.
Here are the instructions from the help menu.
Step 1, go to File/Calibration
The following screen will appear.
2. Print the test page by going to file/print and choose your printer and print as you normally would.
3. Cut the Distance Adjustment test Lines. I had a little trouble at this step. I had to use the arrow keys on the Silhouette Cameo to move the blade so that it was at the bottom right hand corner of the green square. Then when I hit the "cut the distance adjustment test lines" button it worked just fine.
4. Once you figure how much your cut is off you can change the settings by clicking on the grey triangles and drag it left or right or up and down. In my case, my image was cutting to low, so it needed to be higher which ended up be -0.15.
The adjustment from above now allows me to have perfect print and cuts! Here is a monster that I printed and cut from lettering delights Bloom and Growl graphic set.
Thank you for stopping bye!
