Silhouette Baby Shoe

I am having so much fun playing with my Silhouette Cameo.  I own several die cut machines.  The 13 inch Black Cat Cougar, E-craft and the other one that uses cartridges.  Each machine is different but I truly love the Silhouette Cameo for it's ease of use and the amazing files that you can get online at the Silhouette Store.  I decided to purchase the file subscription service.  I used a coupon and ended up getting it for 18.00 a month.  You get 150.00 each month and most images are .99.  A bargain compared to buying a cartridge where you only wanted one or two images off it.  They have lots of 3d Items that I am in love with.  I know several ladies that will be having a baby soon so I thought that I would try my luck at this cute baby shoe.

In The Silhouette Studio Software I opened the Baby Shoe.  I decided to make one for a boy and a girl. Since this was just a test cut to see how it would look I decided to create my own pattern in the software by flood filling with a girl pattern and a boy pattern.

Then I did the print and cut.  I have a wide format printer that I picked up cheap last year at Office Depot so I was able to do this on a 12x12 piece of white cardstock.  The Cameo handled the print and cut like a dream!

Here are the finished shoes.  I think that they are so cute.  I did take the advice of the creator of the file to lace the shoe before gluing.  I tried glue dots on the pink shoe and liquid glue around the blue.  I prefer the liquid glue.  It took longer to put the shoe together because I had to hold each tab and wait for it to dry before moving on to the next.  I think that they turned out pretty darn cute!

Silhouette Cameo Print and Cut Calibration

One of my favorite things about the Silhouette Cameo is the way that it handles images for Print and Cut.  I have tried using other cutting machines for print and cut and I was able to get okay results.  The okay results though usually took some time to achieve depending on the machine I was using.  The silhouette Machine has been a dream to work with and I get perfect print and cut images with very little effort.

The only issue that I had is when I first attempted to do the print and cut it was slightly off.  The cut was slightly down cutting into the top of my image and leaving a white border towards the bottom of the image.  I found the directions in the Silhouette Studio software on how to fix it by calibrating the machine.

Here are the instructions from the help menu.

Step 1, go to File/Calibration

The following screen will appear.

2.  Print the test page by going to file/print and choose your printer and print as you normally would.

3.  Cut the Distance Adjustment test Lines.  I had a little trouble at this step.  I had to use the arrow keys on the Silhouette Cameo to move the blade so that it was at the bottom right hand corner of the green square.  Then when I hit the "cut the distance adjustment test lines" button it worked just fine.

4.  Once you figure how much your cut is off you can change the settings by clicking on the grey triangles and drag it left or right or up and down.  In my case, my image was cutting to low, so it needed to be higher which ended up be -0.15.

The adjustment from above now allows me to have perfect print and cuts!  Here is a monster that I printed and cut from lettering delights Bloom and Growl graphic set.

 Thank you for stopping bye!

I Love My Silhouette Cameo

These are some Print and cut images that I purchased from Lettering Delights. They turned out beautifully. I made a bunch of them for Easter. Everyone thought that they were so cute!

I hope you can tell by my pictures how nice the Cameo cut the images. When i first got my Cameo I did have to make a slight calibration adjustment to get a perfect print and cut. The Silhouette Designer software made it so easy!
